This artwork by William Hamo Thornycroft achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2014. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work The Mower sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,700.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Hamo Thornycroft have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Teucer in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 77,239.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Hamo Thornycroft erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit The Mower für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.700,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Hamo Thornycroft auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Teucer im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 77.239,90).
