This price was achieved in the auction Modern British Art Evening Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Winston Churchill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tower Of The Koutoubia Mosque in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,285,000.00 (€ 9,732,740.78).
