The work Montmartre, la rue Cortot by Stanislas Lépine was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in New York in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,161.07), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Stanislas Lépine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Seine à la Garenne Saint-Denis in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 149,650.00 (€ 218,484.28).

Die Arbeit Montmartre, la rue Cortot von Stanislas Lépine wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.161,07) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanislas Lépine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Seine à la Garenne Saint-Denis im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 149.650,00 (€ 218.484,28).
