Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Evening, Derbyshire Village by Stanley Royle was sold in the 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,056.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Royle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Polperro Harbour, Cornwall in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,516.43).

Die Arbeit Evening, Derbyshire Village von Stanley Royle wurde im November 2000 in der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.056,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Royle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Polperro Harbour, Cornwall im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.516,43).
