Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A hawk guarding his prey by Stephen Elmer was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in February 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,438.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Stephen Elmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grey Partridge In A Extensive Landscape, With Hunters Beyond in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,022.85).
