The work Flowers by Sun Kehong was worth HKD 3,440,000.00 (€ 397,600.36) to a buyer in May 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Flowers the most expensive artwork by Sun Kehong that we have observed at auctions so far.
