Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Sunil Gawde. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,116.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sunil Gawde - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Alive - I, which sold at auction in November 2018 for INR 2,125,000.00 (€ 26,836.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern+Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sunil Gawde zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.116,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sunil Gawde mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Alive - I beobachtet, die im November 2018 für INR 2.125.000,00 (€ 26.836,97) versteigert wurde.
