This price was achieved in the auction Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Teng-Hiok Chiu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52).
