Auction result well in line with expectations
The work IX 61 by Thea Ekström was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in October 2010. The price achieved of USD 687.50 (€ 494.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thea Ekström - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "18 VII", which sold at auction in September this year for SEK 18,000.00 (€ 1,561.22).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 687,50 (€ 494,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thea Ekström mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "18 VII" beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für SEK 18.000,00 (€ 1.561,22) versteigert wurde.
