Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer by Theodore Penleigh Boyd was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,645.00 (€ 955.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Penleigh Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The River in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 59,750.00 (€ 36,728.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Summer von Theodore Penleigh Boyd kam im November 2001 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.645,00 (€ 955,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Penleigh Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The River im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 59.750,00 (€ 36.728,66).
