Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Figures by a tor in a winter landscape by Thomas Adolphus Falcon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 675.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Adolphus Falcon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Appledore, Devon in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,060.00 (€ 3,551.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures by a tor in a winter landscape von Thomas Adolphus Falcon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 675,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Adolphus Falcon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Appledore, Devon im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.060,00 (€ 3.551,65).
