Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 50,400.00 (€ 44,951.84). Admittedly, works by Thomas Birch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Battery And Harbor, New York in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 482,500.00 (€ 346,648.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Philadelphia Harbor von Thomas Birch wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Important Americana bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 50.400,00 (€ 44.951,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Birch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Battery And Harbor, New York im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 482.500,00 (€ 346.648,47).
