The work The Dawn of Womanhood by Thomas Cooper Gotch was sold in the Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 126,137.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Dawn of Womanhood is the most expensive artwork by Thomas Cooper Gotch that we have observed at auctions so far.
