Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cycle Tingari A Wilkinkarra / Tingari Cycle At Wilkinkarra, 1994 by Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in December 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,913.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Straightening Spears in August 2001 with an auction result of AUD 58,750.00 (€ 34,106.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cycle Tingari A Wilkinkarra / Tingari Cycle At Wilkinkarra, 1994 von Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula im Dezember 2010 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.913,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Straightening Spears im August 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 58.750,00 (€ 34.106,02).
