Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Oír las aguas by Tomás Sánchez. The price achieved of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tomás Sánchez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Llegada del caminante a la laguna, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,622,644.91).
