In November 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Het palet van een clown, extra voorstelling!, which included the work Abstract by Toon Hermans. The auction ended at the price of EUR 3,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toon Hermans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zelfportret Met Papieren Muts in November 2004 with an auction result of EUR 66,920.00.

Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis

Im November 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Het palet van een clown, extra voorstelling! durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract von Toon Hermans zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 3.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toon Hermans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zelfportret Met Papieren Muts im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.920,00.
