Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Il fantasma del pesce mummia appare, uscendo da una bottiglia, durante un concerto by Ugo Sterpini was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 331.18). Other works by Ugo Sterpini have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2018 by the work L'infanzia di Toulouse-Lautrec at USD 500.00 (€ 441.58).

Als die Arbeit Il fantasma del pesce mummia appare, uscendo da una bottiglia, durante un concerto von Ugo Sterpini im November 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 331,18) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Ugo Sterpini wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2018 die Arbeit L'infanzia di Toulouse-Lautrec mit USD 500,00 (€ 441,58).
