A triptych titled: Kiso Yoshinaka, The war of the Kurikara valley, signed: Ichimosai Yoshitora ga (legt and right sheets) and Kinchoro Yoshitora ga on the left, date: 1847-1848; and: a triptych titled: Illustration of the cultivation of silkworms, signed: Yoshitora on all sheets; added: Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880), a triptych showing a kabuki version of the story of Taira Tomomori on the beach of Dannoura - good impressions, colour and condition, the first and the last from an album, backed and slightly trimmed, the second slightly faded toned and wrinkled (3)

Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A triptych titled: Kiso Yoshinaka, The war of the Kurikara valley, signed: Ichimosai Yoshitora ga (legt and right sheets) and Kinchoro Yoshitora ga on the left, date: 1847-1848; and: a triptych titled: Illustration of the cultivation of silkworms, signed: by Utagawa Yoshitora for EUR 657.25. This price was achieved in the auction ASIAN CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 750.00 Admittedly, works by Utagawa Yoshitora have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Igirisukoku (England) in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A triptych titled: Kiso Yoshinaka, The war of the Kurikara valley, signed: Ichimosai Yoshitora ga (legt and right sheets) and Kinchoro Yoshitora ga on the left, date: 1847-1848; and: a triptych titled: Illustration of the cultivation of silkworms, signed: von Utagawa Yoshitora für EUR 657,25 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion ASIAN CERAMICS AND WORKS OF ART bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 750,00 – 950,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshitora auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Igirisukoku (England) im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59).
