The work Igirisukoku (England) by Utagawa Yoshitora was sold in the AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS auction at Christies in New York in March 2003. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59), 25% above the upper estimate. With this result, Igirisukoku (England) is even the most expensive work of art by Utagawa Yoshitora that we have observed at auctions so far.
