It achieved a price of GBP 36,050.00 (€ 41,486.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 44%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Viviano Codazzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari, which sold at auction in December 2002 for EUR 99,200.00.

Die Arbeit An Architectural Capriccio With Figures Amongst Classical Ruins, A Lighthouse Beyond von Viviano Codazzi wurde im April 2010 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and British Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 36.050,00 (€ 41.486,50) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 44%. Für andere Arbeiten von Viviano Codazzi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ruderi di un edificio di ordine tuscanico, con un paesaggio mediterraneo sullo sfondo ed il tempio di Vesta, con astanti vari beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für EUR 99.200,00 versteigert wurde.
