The work Idol by Wang Keping was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 625,000.00 (€ 72,238.44), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Keping - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couple - 1999-2012, which sold at auction in July last year for EUR 157,440.00.

Die Arbeit Idol von Wang Keping wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 72.238,44) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Keping mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couple - 1999-2012 beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für EUR 157.440,00 versteigert wurde.
