In October 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Asian Art, which included the work Hometown Moon by Wang Pan-Youn. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,905.00), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Pan-Youn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lonely Bird, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 725,000.00 (€ 84,086.58).

Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hometown Moon von Wang Pan-Youn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.905,00) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Pan-Youn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lonely Bird beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 725.000,00 (€ 84.086,58) versteigert wurde.
