Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sketch for 'Persecution', 1968 by Weaver Hawkins was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne in April 2021. The price achieved of AUD 2,706.00 (€ 2,249.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weaver Hawkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1941 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 46,740.00 (€ 28,014.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sketch for 'Persecution', 1968 von Weaver Hawkins wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.706,00 (€ 2.249,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Weaver Hawkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1941 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 46.740,00 (€ 28.014,36).
