Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Insects, Birds and Flowers by Wen Shu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 100,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 525,000.00 (€ 60,680.29). Admittedly, works by Wen Shu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rising Early In Spring To Lament Flowers in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 370,005.38).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Insects, Birds and Flowers von Wen Shu im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 100.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 525.000,00 (€ 60.680,29) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wen Shu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rising Early In Spring To Lament Flowers im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 413.000,00 (€ 370.005,38).
