Artwork auctioned at three times the pre-set estimate

When the work $HT Coin: After Warhol by White Male Artist was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in July 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - price of USD 1,800.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 6,048.00 (€ 5,097.77). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by White Male Artist; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot $HT Coin: After Cassils sold at auction in July 2021 with the realized price of USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,027.31).

Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des Schätzpreises versteigert

Als die Arbeit $HT Coin: After Warhol von White Male Artist im Juli 2021 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.800,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 6.048,00 (€ 5.097,77) mehr als dreimal so hoch.
