Admittedly, works by Wilhelm von Gloeden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sicilian Youths, Taormina, C.1901 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,258.92).

Die Arbeit „Taormina“. von Wilhelm von Gloeden wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Auktionen Oktober 2018 - Photographie bei Grisebach versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.000,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilhelm von Gloeden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sicilian Youths, Taormina, C.1901 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.258,92).
