Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Alchemist by Willem Joseph Laquy for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,844.83). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Joseph Laquy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegory of Painting; and An Allegory of Sculpture, which sold at auction in April 2010 for EUR 8,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Alchemist von Willem Joseph Laquy für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.844,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Joseph Laquy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegory of Painting; and An Allegory of Sculpture beobachtet, die im April 2010 für EUR 8.750,00 versteigert wurde.
