Die Arbeit Windmills in a Dutch polder landscape von Willem Roelofs kam im Juni 2017 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 10.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Roelofs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer (Between Hilversum And Loosdrecht) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 78.250,00.
