In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Early Spring Flowers by William Chadwick. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 35,885.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Early Spring Flowers is the most expensive artwork by William Chadwick that we have observed at auctions so far.
