Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of St. Mark's Cathedral, Venice by William Collingwood was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 924.96). Other works by William Collingwood have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2007 by the work The Jungfrau At Sunrise at GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,443.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View of St. Mark's Cathedral, Venice von William Collingwood im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 750,00 (€ 924,96) den Besitzer.
