Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work The American Dove by William Hayes for GBP 60.00 (€ 88.92). This price was achieved in the auction PROPERTY FROM MOUNDSMERE MANOR, HAMPSHIRE at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drawings of birds, sixty original watercolours, 1791-1792 in May last year with an auction result of GBP 37,800.00 (€ 44,468.10).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PROPERTY FROM MOUNDSMERE MANOR, HAMPSHIRE bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Drawings of birds, sixty original watercolours, 1791-1792 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.800,00 (€ 44.468,10).
