Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Florida Lemons by William J. McCloskey for USD 75,000.00 (€ 54,985.34). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William J. McCloskey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wrapped Oranges On A Tabletop in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 782,500.00 (€ 544,309.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Florida Lemons von William J. McCloskey für USD 75.000,00 (€ 54.985,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00.
