Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Snow-Capped Peak by William Leighton Leitch for GBP 750.00 (€ 905.19). This price was achieved in the auction The Sunday Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leighton Leitch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Villa of Lucullus At Miseneum in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 70,518.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Snow-Capped Peak von William Leighton Leitch für GBP 750,00 (€ 905,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Sunday Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Leighton Leitch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Villa of Lucullus At Miseneum im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 70.518,07).
