It achieved a price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,864.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Admittedly, works by William Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).
