Upper estimate price exceeded by 65 %.

The work Portrait of Miss Sledmere, seated half-length, in a white dress with a red cloak, by a tree by William Owen was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,063.11), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Owen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ernest Augustus I (1771-1851), Duke of Cumberland and later King of Hanover (1837-1851), full-length, in the uniform of a British General Officer of Hussars, with the blue sash and breast star of the Order of the Garter in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 87,421.89).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Miss Sledmere, seated half-length, in a white dress with a red cloak, by a tree von William Owen kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Ernest Augustus I (1771-1851), Duke of Cumberland and later King of Hanover (1837-1851), full-length, in the uniform of a British General Officer of Hussars, with the blue sash and breast star of the Order of the Garter im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 87.421,89).
