Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,233.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Page Atkinson Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lilac Sunbonnet, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,339.71).
