Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black Haven Variations by William Tillyer was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,763.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Tillyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blackbird in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 66,369.47).

Die Arbeit Black Haven Variations von William Tillyer wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.763,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Tillyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blackbird im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 66.369,47).
