Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Armstrong could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale auction, the work A Wagon Train Crossing The Plains changed hands for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 6,963.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Armstrong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Kaministiquoia River, Lake Superior, which sold at auction in September 2010 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,023.64).
