Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Figures in an extensive wooded landscape, Okehampton Castle by William Williams of Plymouth for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,864.54). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Williams of Plymouth have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2011 by the work The Lock At Newton Marshes at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,149.72).
