Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A robin perched on a basket of primroses by Winifred Austen was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in July 2008. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 873.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winifred Austen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Barn Owl in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,670.85).
