Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A gull swooping by Winifred Austen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,040.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winifred Austen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Barn Owl in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,670.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gull swooping von Winifred Austen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.040,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winifred Austen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Barn Owl im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.670,85).
