This artwork by Yu Ji achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection auction, the work Lute Song On An Autumn Night sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 41,214.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yu Ji achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Planting Bamboo in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 8,650,000.00 (€ 912,387.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yu Ji erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection wurde die Arbeit Lute Song On An Autumn Night für USD 40.320,00 (€ 41.214,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yu Ji erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Planting Bamboo im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.650.000,00 (€ 912.387,57).
