This artwork by Yuan Mei achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Regular Script sold for HKD 944,000.00 (€ 109,108.94) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yuan Mei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Letters sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 212,500.00 (€ 186,567.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yuan Mei erzielte im Mai 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script für HKD 944.000,00 (€ 109.108,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yuan Mei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Letters im März 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 186.567,16).
