Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art and Photography from Africa and the Diaspora, which included the work Isililo XX by Zanele Muholi. The price achieved of USD 7,905.00 (€ 7,748.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zanele Muholi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alakhe in December last year with an auction result of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 39,827.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art and Photography from Africa and the Diaspora durch, in der auch die Arbeit Isililo XX von Zanele Muholi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.905,00 (€ 7.748,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zanele Muholi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alakhe im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 39.827,68).
