Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Bocage by Zao Wou-Ki. It changed hands for a price of HKD 17,500,000.00 (€ 1,884,140.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 15,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bocage von Zao Wou-Ki zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 17.500.000,00 (€ 1.884.140,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 15.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
