Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Things by Zhang Enli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,200,000.00 – 4,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 306,665.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Enli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maidens, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 10,050,000.00 (€ 1,193,150.68).
