Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Landscape Of Piling by Zhang Hong was worth HKD 525,000.00 (€ 59,149.11) to a buyer in April 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy from the Yong Li Studio at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Hong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Studio by a Secluded Stream sold at auction in April last year with the realized price of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72).
