Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Lady standing at a dressing table, 1997 by Zhang Yibo was sold in the Fine Chinese ArtIncluding Imperial and Court Textiles Curated by Linda Wrigglesworth auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,790.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Yibo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Candle Obscurity, which sold at auction in October 2001 for HKD 82,250.00 (€ 11,725.18).

Die Arbeit Lady standing at a dressing table, 1997 von Zhang Yibo wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Fine Chinese ArtIncluding Imperial and Court Textiles Curated by Linda Wrigglesworth bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.790,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yibo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Candle Obscurity beobachtet, die im Oktober 2001 für HKD 82.250,00 (€ 11.725,18) versteigert wurde.
