About

Alexandra Weidmann was born in 1962 in Augsburg, Germany. After graduating from the Technical University of Berlin with a degree in computer science, she worked in research before becoming a freelance artist in the late 90s. Since then, she has exhibited regularly in Germany and abroad. She has received numerous grants and has been nominated for awards. Most recently, she was shortlisted for the Wilhelm Morgner Prize.

She came into contact with art and culture in her hometown at an early age. As a 14-year-old, she was introduced to Italy's cultural treasures during a bicycle tour of Tuscany. In addition to school, she learned artistic techniques and continued her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. On countless travels she studied the world's cultural heritage. All these influences have contributed to her unique style of painting.
