Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ancient Ruins by Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur De Merprès was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. The price achieved of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,419.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur De Merprès achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Women Around the Lotus Pond in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 30,360,000.00 (€ 3,509,054.33).
